Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry signs MoU with Zbooni

The Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and leading SME enabler Zbooni have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that could help more than 40,000 businesses. The collaboration will support new and existing Emirati and expatriate businesses that are registered with the chamber, providing them with tools, training and resources, and helping to propel the increasingly important UAE private sector. SMEs contribute to more than 53 per cent of the UAE’s non-oil GDP according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, with that figure expected to rise to 60 per cent by the end of this year.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al-Janahi, Acting Director General of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and Ashraf Atia, Chief Operating Officer at Zbooni.

Commenting on the MoU, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al-Janahi said:“Cooperation and partnership between the public and private sectors is necessary to provide innovative services and programmes that contribute to the growth and sustainability of businesses, especially SMEs, which are the backbone of the economy in the UAE. This agreement with Zbooni underlines Ajman Chamber’s commitment to support businesses with innovative technologies that accelerate growth and positively contribute to the economy.”

Ashraf Atia, Chief Operating Officer at Zbooni said: “We are privileged to be working with Ajman Chamber and welcome the opportunity to help serve the many thousands of businesses registered here. Zbooni will provide these companies with the necessary digital tools required to start, run and grow their enterprises, and in collaboration with the Chamber, we are committed to supporting business owners through training and practical workshops.”

Zbooni is trusted by thousands of merchants across the UAE and provides a suite of helpful easy-to-use business solutions including payments, invoicing, digital store creation, customer data dashboards, and support tools. The MoU will also include the organization of joint introductory workshops to educate business owners about the basics of e-commerce and the mechanisms of utilizing social media sites in marketing and increasing sales. SMEs account for 95 per cent of companies across the UAE and employ 86 per cent of the total workforce in the non-oil private sector.

The agreement outlines five key ways in which Zbooni can provide assistance to Ajman Chamber’s diverse range of multi-sector businesses. Firstly, the MoU allows SMEs registered with the Chamber to access unprecedented support from Zbooni’s powerful business tools. Secondly, Zbooni will provide training and resources to the Chamber’s community of businesses. Thirdly, Zbooni will provide consultation and mentoring on how SMEs can grow their digital brand footprint and provide co-marketing initiatives. Fourthly, to work collaboratively with the Chamber to identify the SME community’s challenges and set forth a road map to tackle them in a sustainable manner. Finally, Zbooni will also assist the Chamber in accelerating the transition to a cashless UAE society.
